Batesville- Sunman Dearborn’s eighth grade “A” team kept its undefeated season in tact after posting a 36-12 win at St. Louis Monday. The night began with a 16-4 first quarter for the Trojans who then shut down the Cardinals 8-0 in the second to gain full control of the game.
Cardinal coach Rob Bucher felt his girls played very good, energetic defense against a talented opponent. His team was led by Audrey Oesterling with six points. Mary Poltrack scored five and had six steals. Anya Smith ripped seven rebounds and had a pair of steals. Hanna Wintz put a free throw and contributed an assists plus two boards. Abby Roell did well in her defensive assignment throughout the game.
Sunman-D also won the seventh grade game 33-16.
Scoring for St. Louis were Kylie Paul with six followed by two each from Margret Glaser, Sarah poltrack, Annie Freese, Mia Hillenbrand and Taylor Meyers.
St. Louis will play at Benjamin Rush Thursday. Information for Sunman-Dearborn will be added when received.
