St. Leon- Sunman-Dearborn’s eighth grade “Black” fell to Connersville in St. Leon Tuesday while the seventh grade Trojans won.  It was the first game of the season for Sunman-D.

In a 25-19 defeat for S-D, Maddalyn Kirby led the Lady Trojans with six points while Gwen Kern and Kendall Gindling scored four each.

The seventh grade Sunman-Dearborn crew opened the season strong with a 28-5 win over the Spartans.

Individual scoring for the S-D Black seventh included: Peyton Yocum 10, Robyn Shumate 6, Corryn Caudy 4, Ariel Deater 4, Audrey Vogelgesang 2 and Sarah Hornbach 2. Brittney Lavin and Hannah Lynch also made contributions in the win.

SDMS Black will host Laurel at 5:30 pm on Thursday.
