*(BKT/G-Wed) 2013 Rivertown girls’ losers are winners in 2014

Wednesday’s Rivertown Classic games were heard live as part of our Dearborn County Hospital high school basketball webcast schedule and are available (after 12 pm Thursday) for replay in our webcast archives.

In game one, it was Lawrenceburg versus Rising Sun.  The 2013 opening round pairing saw the Lady Shiners erase a 14 point deficit at halftime and eventually win on a free throw with 5.5 seconds left.

Lex Fussnecker scored seven first quarter points and helped the Tigers establish a 13-9 end of one lead.

The Tiger spread reached 10 points in the second period.  Fussnecker and Hailey Knippenberg both scored four.  But Rising Sun cut the deficit to six by halftime, 25-19, on deuces by Sydney Willhite and Amber Sporleder.  Willhite had nine first half points.
