The Trojans scored on their opening drive, 63 yards in nine plays.  Logan Storie crossed the goal line from seven yards out.  Caden Browndyke added the PAT.  It was 7-0 at 7:34 in the first quarter.

The Trojans’ Logan Moser incepted a Greensburg pass on the Pirates first play from scrimmage setting up the EC offense on the opposing 26-yard line.

Eight plays later, Trojan quarterback Isaiah Wheat and Justin Brown connected on a 2-yard scoring pass.  The Browndyke kick after made it 14-0 at the 3:30 mark of period one.

The next Greensburg possession was a three-and-out and East Central returned the punt to midfield.  Wheat completed passes of 21 and 22 yards to Storie and Brown respectively to set up first and goal at the eight.  Troy Teepe got the call two plays later and scored from the three.  With 10:38 to go in the second quarter following the Browndyke extra point, the hosts were now up 21-0.

While the Pirates turned the ball over on downs during their next series, the Greensburg defense was finally able to record a stop thanks in part to a sack by Logan Shafer.  But the Bucs gave the ball back quickly on a fumble which was recovered by EC’s Nathan Lloyd on the GCHS 5.  Teepe scored from there on a second down carry.  The XP was good pushing the point spread to 28-0 with 4:49 left in the half.

The East Central defense forced another turnover on downs and handed over the piggy to the offense on its own 41.  Alex Maxwell, who had returned to his quarterback role a series earlier, completed a 14-yard toss to Jake Seiwert and and 26-yard pile moving pass play to Brown which spotted the rock on the Greensburg five.  The Trojans settled on a 22-yard field goal by Browndyke and took a 31-0 lead into halftime.
