Season ends for local golfers at regionals

The Greensburg Pirates and a handful of other local high school golfers played in regional competition Thursday at two sites.  Unfortunately, none will advance to the state finals.

At the Providence Regional played at Champions Pointe, Greensburg, the only local team to advance out of sectionals, finished 15th with a 351.  The team champ was Center Grove with a 278.  Moving on to state with the Trojans are Columbus North with 290 and Bedford North Lawrence with 301.

Local athletes scores were:

  • East Central’s Kyle Leising- 83
  • South Dearborn’s Andrew Miller- 84
  • Greensburg’s Trevor Stapp- 85
  • Greensburg’s Anthony Treash- 87
  • Greensburg’s Trevor Foster- 89
  • Greensburg’s Kyle Sellers- 90
  • Batesville’s Ross Harmeyer- 96
  • Switzerland County’s Kyle Whitham- 101
  • Greensburg’s Curtis Bausback- 104

The Muncie Central Regional played at the Player’s Club had no local teams present but did have two individuals.  Rushville’s Cole Harmony shot 82 and Connersville’s Dalton Lee posted 103.
