Versailles- South Ripley’s junior high boys hosted Sunman-Dearborn “B” Thursday. The Trojans took the seventh grade game while the Raiders won the eighth.
In the seventh grade contest, Sunman-D led 15-5 after the first quarter, 18-11 at the half, 23-15 following the third and finished on top 35-21.
“I was very proud of the team effort,” said Trojan coach Thomas Meyer. “Each player contributed to the win.”
In the eighth grade matchup, Ripley won 41-30 led by three players with nine points each- Derek Ritchie, Wyatt Elston and Elijah Roepke. Julian Carpenter score six and Zach Thompson added four for the Raiders.
Sunman-Dearborn had a 14-12 advantage at the half but South Ripley came back with 29 points in the second half, the most the club has scored in a half this season.
