Lawrenceburg 59, Switzerland County 34; JV Tigers 51-48 OT

Lawrenceburg-  Each team was missing a starter in Tuesday’s game at Lawrenceburg.  A deeper host Tiger club adjusted better and posted a convincing 59-34 victory over the visitors from Switzerland County.

This game was seen live as part of our Dearborn County Hospital Basketball Webcast Schedule.  See it again archived in 720p HD by clicking here.

There isn’t much analysis needed on the play-by-play of the event.  Coach John Blackwell’s Tigers never trailed and used a 13-0 first quarter run to go up 17-3.  It was 24-7 at the first stop, 35-19 at half and 51-25 after three quarters.

With the Pacers missing junior forward and top rebounder Tyler Konkle for a second straight game (illness), the Tigers converted 2-point shots at a clip of 69 percent.  Combined with a not-so-bad 29 percent from the arc, LHS made 24 of 47 shots overall for 51 percent.

Coach Adam Dennis’ Pacers had a difficult time scoring the ball making just 11 of 35 total field goals for 31 percent.

With Lawrenceburg’s leading scorer Curtis White on the bench for a fourth game (hip flexor), sophomore center Jason Morton and senior forward Logan Lawrence both doubled their season scoring averages.  Morton finished with 14 points, mostly down low, and added five rebounds. Lawrence carded 10 points showing nice touch on mid-range jumpers.

Teammate Gavin Yoon led all players in points and rebounds with 18 and eight respectively. He also added five assists. Yoon and Morton were named our Whitewater Motor Company Players Of The Game.

Switzerland County was headed in scoring by Kyle Whitham with 12 points.  Fellow Pacer Austin South scored 10 and had a team-high five caroms.
