South Ripley JV @ Oldenburg Academy (Batesville Complex)

South Ripley 8, Oldenburg 4

One week ago, Oldenburg dominated the Raiders in 20-7 blowout; in the rematch, SR’s Jacob Jines dominated the Twisters. Jines pitched his second consecutive complete game, pitching all seven innings, allowing only 5 hits, two earned runs, 7 strikeouts, and most importantly, no walks.

OA jumped out early, scoring twice in the first inning. The Twisters held the Raiders offense silent through the middle innings, leading 2-0 going into the sixth. However, the Raiders put together a rally, scoring four times to take a 4-2 lead. Oldenburg put together a rally of their own in the bottom of the inning, scoring two unearned runs to tie the game at 4. South Ripley was not be denied as they again scored four runs, thanks in large part to a Jay Cornett bases loaded hit.

SR Box Score:

  • Kendall Stehpen 0-5, run scored
  • Jacob Jines 2-3, double, single, 2 runs
  • Luke Thomas 1-2, 2 runs, 2 walks
  • Noah Eggleston 0-3, walk
  • Logan Eggleston 0-1, run scored,1 RBI
  • Peyton Owens 0-4, run scored, stolen base
  • Trent Burford 1-4, run scored, 1 RBI
  • Jay Cornett 1-3, walk, 2 RBI
  • Richie Block 0-2, 2 walks, 1 RBI

The Raiders now stand at 3-3 on the season.

Oldenburg got two hits each from Peetz and Hoff.  Peetz had 2-RBI.  Both Hoff and Younger had one ribbie.
