Batesville 7, Franklin Central 3

The following is a varsity baseball reports from Batesville coach Justin Tucker (via GameChanger). We thank them for the report.

(Batesville) Despite allowing three runs in the fifth inning, the Bulldogs defeated Franklin Central 7-3 on Tuesday. Franklin Central scored its runs on a home run by Ethan McDaniel.

The Bulldogs started off early, as they got things moving in the first inning. The Bulldogs cored one run when Sam Voegele singled, and then put on one more to lead 2-0 after the first inning and did not look back.

Caleb Raab took the win for the Bulldogs. He allowed eight hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Brody Sommers took the loss for Franklin Central. He surrendered five runs on six hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

Quinn Werner led the Bulldogs with two hits in three at bats. One of his hits was a two run home run in the sixth inning. His first home run of the year.
