Greensburg 6, Rushville 1

The following is an unedited varsity baseball report from Rushville coach Kyle Harpring:

Rushville traveled to Greensburg on Monday evening and were defeated, 6-1. After Rushville jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, the Pirates responded with five runs in the bottom of the third and the Lions could never recover.

Aaron Duncan started and suffered the loss for Rushville. He lasted 2 2/3 innings, allowing four earned runs while striking out five and walking one. Gage Rosenfeld (1 1/3 IP, 1 hit, 2 strikeouts) and Adam Leising (2 IP, 2 strikeouts) were very solid in relief.

Mason Springman continued his hot start at the plate with two doubles. Rosenfeld and Leising each added singles, with Leising scoring the lone Lion run.

The overall record of the team stands at 1-2 and the EIAC record of the team is also 1-2.

Additional information from Greensburg Baseball:

Greensburg posted nine hits with three coming from Chase Springmeyer.  Logan Smith doubled with two RBI and Eric Million batted in one with a base hit.  Ben Duerstock pitched a complete game with 13 strikeouts against one walk and four hits.  The run allowed was unearned.
