The following is an unedited report from Batesville Baseball coach Justin Tucker.

Senior Joe Bohman threw a no hitter on Thursday to lead Batesville past Connersville 9-0. Bohman induced a groundout from Cameron Rowe of Connersville to end the game.

In the first inning, Batesville got their offense started when Quinn Werner singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

The Bulldogs put up four runs in the second inning. The Bulldog’s big bats in the inning were led by doubles by Trey Heidlage and Werner. In the third inning, Freshman Sam Voegele hit a two RBI home run to put the Bulldogs up 7-0 after three.

Bohman was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs. He lasted seven innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking zero. It was his first career no-hitter.

Bryce Cloyd took the loss for Connersville. He allowed six hits and seven runs over two and a third innings, striking out one.

Batesville tallied eight hits on the day. Bohman, Werner, and Heidlage each collected two hits to lead the Bulldogs. Batesville was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Lane Oesterling had the most chances in the field with 15.
