BATESVILLE ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Athlete’s name: Nick Vodzack
- Level/Sport: Varsity Track and Field
- Athlete’s year/position: Sophomore Distance Runner
- Submitted by: Lisa Gausman
- Submitter’s position: Head Track Coach
- Athlete’s accomplishments: Nick was the Sectional Champion in the 3200 meter run and is now headed to compete in the 3200 at the regional level in Connersville. He was Batesville’s only individual champion of the evening.
- Submitter’s personal comments: Nick has an incredible work ethic and it is very fun to watch him run. He is an athlete that I love to coach during his race, because if you tell him to do something, he does it… reasonably, of course. I am looking forward to watching him set a personal record on Thursday!
Athlete’s name: Dani Strobel
- Level/Sport: Varsity Track
- Athlete’s year/position: Pole Vault
- Submitted by: Lisa Gausman
- Submitter’s position: Head Track Coach
- Athlete’s accomplishments: Dani set a new Batesville High School pole vault record, clearing 8’6″ at the sectional meet last Tuesday at Franklin County earning her the right to compete at regionals in Shelbyville.
- Submitter’s personal comments: Dani has been working really hard to perfect her pole vault techniques and working hard in the weight room build her strength. Obviously it is all paying off! Maybe she’ll hit that 9’0″ mark at regionals!
